About the Race:-

The Multi Terrain Race is a tough 1/2 Marathon round the town of Forfar.  The race route contains a varied mixture of running surfaces from country park paths, tarmac, pavement, farm tracks, fields and bogs – and a water section which can be knee deep (and ice cold).

Safety Information – Runners MUST STOP at all 6 check points which are all located at road crossings during the race and have their race number marked.

NO HEADPHONES TO BE WORN DURING THE RACE

The course will be route marked, it is advised that:

Due to bad weather or directional signs being misplaced every runner studies and carries a map of the course.  If you know your way then great – if you don’t either stay with the pack or carry a map.

After race hospitality is legendary with bar open from 12:30pm and the club laying on a gigantic feast including soup, sandwiches tea/coffee and cakes for the hungry runners and spectators.

Due to the time of year it is advisable that you carry liquid, food & full body cover including hat, gloves, dry top and waterproofs.

Please note:   For the last few years there has been rather more water than usual so an alternative multi route has been in operation.  In 2016 the route finish was altered to ensure it remained a half marathon distance.

There is more detailed information available about the on-the-day arrangements.  If you fancy a quick peek at it then click here.
